More than 50 vehicles were used to transport an asphalt mixing plant for our customer Ammann Asphalt GmbH to Villeneuve on Lake Geneva in Switzerland. Around half of the vehicles were specialised transport units.

Heavy Transport of Components Weighing Up to 25 Tonnes

The transported components included bitumen tanks weighing 19 tonnes (16 × 3.75 × 3.95 m), drums weighing up to 24 tonnes (11 × 3.03 × 3.20 m) and silos weighing 25 tonnes (8 × 3.30 × 3.70 m).

These oversized and heavy components required extendable low-bed trailers, semi-low loaders and the necessary special transport permits for each country.

Collection from Eight Locations

The components were collected from eight production sites in Germany and Czechia and transported to Villeneuve.

The recipient, a company belonging to the Colas Group, is strengthening its capacity to provide high-quality road surfacing solutions within shorter timeframes with its new asphalt mixing plant.
