More than 150 40-foot high-cube containers carrying around 900 crates of air-conditioning equipment make up an import project handled by Speedlog. Shipping from China to Antwerp takes place in several batches between January and March 2026.
From Antwerp via the warehouse to the construction site
Our import department coordinates each stage: taking over the cargo from the vessel in Antwerp, handling the T1 transit procedure and arranging container haulage to our warehouse.
The containers are unloaded there and the crates placed into storage. The subsequent stages include customs clearance for release for free circulation in Kassel and transport to the construction site.
“This import requires close coordination at every stage, from the port and customs procedures to unloading and storage. Precisely scheduled arrivals and careful handling are essential.”
– Grigo SImsek
Just seven centimetres of clearance when unloading
Unloading requires particular care: Most of the crates are 2.52 metres high, leaving only around seven centimetres of clearance at the container doorway.
Ten to sixteen containers per working day
Deliveries arrive at a rate of ten to sixteen containers per working day, following a precise schedule. Container haulage, unloading and storage therefore need to be closely coordinated.
Heavy snow in late January and early February 2026 added another challenge to this extensive import project.
