36 individual shipments within two months: Speedlog transported an asphalt mixing plant to the Netherlands for Ammann Asphalt GmbH. Nine loading sites in four countries and varying cargo dimensions required coordinated planning.
Nine loading sites across four countries
The plant components were collected from five sites in Germany, two in Czechia and one each in Poland and Italy. Loads measured up to 3.50 metres wide and 3.90 metres high. The heaviest individual component weighed 44 tonnes.
Two months’ lead time for permits
The permit procedures for seven specialist transports required a lead time of two months. Semi-low loaders and low-bed trailers could then be scheduled according to the customer’s requirements.
“A project involving 36 shipments requires careful coordination of permits, vehicles and loading sites. Planning ahead is essential.”

Suitable vehicles for each plant component
For the remaining 29 shipments, Speedlog used curtain-sided trailers, mega trailers and flatbed trailers, matching the vehicle types to the different components.
The photograph shows the parallel drum, measuring 16.30 × 3.50 × 3.70 metres and weighing 44,000 kilograms.
