Asphalt mixing plant transport to Belgium
On behalf of Ammann Asphalt GmbH, Speedlog transported various asphalt mixing plant components to Belgium. The components came from four manufacturing sites in Germany and Czechia.
The assignment involved ten curtainsider combinations or rigid trucks, plus an additional heavy transport operation. Different vehicle types were therefore required for the various components.
A 40-tonne drum on a low-bed trailer
Weighing 40,000 kilograms and measuring 13.91 × 3.44 × 3.67 metres, the drum presented particular transport requirements.
A four-axle low-bed trailer was used for this component. Its journey began in Czechia near the Polish border and continued to Vaulx-Tournai in Belgium's Wallonia region.
“When components come from several manufacturing sites, good coordination is essential. Each component needs the right transport solution – from a curtainsider to a low-bed trailer for the 40-tonne drum.”
– Grigo Simsek
Around 1,200 kilometres over four nights
The low-bed trailer covered the approximately 1,200-kilometre route from Czechia to Vaulx-Tournai over four nights.
This heavy transport formed part of the overall assignment, in which Speedlog handled the transport of the various plant components from Germany and Czechia.
Destination: an asphalt mixing plant in Wallonia
The drum's recipient was an asphalt mixing plant belonging to a major Belgian construction group. The company operates throughout Belgium and in neighbouring countries.
The assignment combined curtainsider and rigid-truck transport with the movement of an exceptionally heavy and oversized plant component.
